Body Being Brought To Kirksville from Hyattsville, Md.

Chester S. Bailey, 55, former resident of Kirksville, died Sunday morning in a Hyattsville, Md., hospital. He had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill the past six months.

Born in Kirksville on March 16, 1909, he was the son of Harlos [sic] and Anice (Shinn) Bailey. He married Viola Miller of Greentop and to this marriage seven children were born.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Lynn Ann Bailey of the home and Mrs. Donald (Ruby Fern) Conrad of Green Belt, Md., two sons, John Bailey of Norfolk, Va., and Richard S. Bailey of South Carolina, four grandchildren, one brother, Robert L. Bailey of Lyons, Kan., three sisters, Mrs. Forrest (Wilma) McVay of 1719 E. Washington and Mrs. J. R. (Grace) Kennedy and Mrs. M. E. (Emogene) Alley, both of Russell, Kan., one uncle, Otto Shinn of 828 E. Harrison and one aunt, Mrs. Joe (Ona) Evans of LaPlata.

He was preceded in death by three children, all dying in infancy.

The body will arrive at the Foster Memorial Home late Wednesday night.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Thursday morning in Mary Immaculate church with the Rev. Jerome Bestgen officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Madison cemetery 10 miles northeast of Kirksville.

Bearers will be: Reese Miller, Leslie Miller, Blake Talbert, Kermit Kennedy, Marvin Alley and Forrest McVay.
