Paul C. Smith, 87, of Sheffield Village since 1945 and formerly of Avon Lake, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a short illness. He was born October 15, 1927 in Avon Lake.
Paul served his country as member of the United States Army during WWII and was a member Sheffield Lake AMVETS Post 55. He was employed with Dairymens Milk Company for 35 years, working as a milkman and retiring in 1988 as a retail
sales manager.
Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Dale P. Smith (Deborah) of Sheffield Village, Darrel A. (Rose) of Sheffield Lake, LouAnn Yonkof (Paul) of Sheffield
Village, Ronald J. (Mary Ellen) of Wakeman; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Sallay of Bay Village and James Smith of Avon Lake.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruth J. (nee Alten); parents Clarence and Anastasia Merle (nee Horwedel) Smith; siblings, Margaret Strohsack, Clayton Smith, Wilma Smith, Virginia Conrad, Jeannette Robinson.
Prayer Service will be 9:15 A.M., Monday, at the Avon Lake Busch Funeral Home, with a 10 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Teresa Church, 1878 Abbe Road, Sheffield. Father Ed Smith will officiate. Interment will be at St. Teresa Cemetery.
