Statesboro, Ga., May 29 - Mrs. J. Barton Parrish, 79, died early this morning after a brief illness. Mrs. Parrish was the daughter of the late James B. Rushing and the late Emma Alderman Rushing. She was born in Bulloch County on May 9, 1876 and had lived here all her life. She was a member of the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. O. Leaster Brannen, Claxton, and Mrs. W. Dedrick Davis, Statesboro; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Warnock, Mrs. G. C. Coleman Jr., and Mrs. George Beasley, all of Statesboro; and one brother, John N. Rushing, Statesboro.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Shelton Mikell conducting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers: Olliff Akins, Terrell Beasley, Linwood McElveen, G. C. Coleman, F.J.B. Rushing and John Rushing.
