Chico Record (Chico, California) 12 Sep 1943, Sunday Page 8: Elmer H. Jewett Dies In Sacramento. Elmer H. Jewett, 68, resident of Chico since 1898, died at a Sacramento hospital yesterday morning after a long illness.

Jewett was born in Missouri and came to Nord where he farmed for many years. His wife, Maude, died shortly after coming to California.

He is survived by a daughter, Maude, in southern California, and by three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Burson of Sacramento, Mrs. Edith Wells and Mrs. Elizabeth Cole of Keokuk, Ia.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Nugent funeral home with the Rev. Harris Pillsbury of Bidwell Memorial Prebyterian church officiating. Burial will be in the Chico cemetery.
