“Services will be at 2:30 p.m. EST Saturday at the Dickerson Funeral Home for Mrs. Agnes Newnum, 72, of Veedersburg Route 4. She died Saturday (February 2, 1985) on a flight to Hawaii.

The Rev. Richard Throckmorton will officiate. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Eastern Star memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She had worked for 15 years as an inspector at the Radio Materials Corp. in Attica.

Born June 6, 1912, in Dana, she was the daughter of Louis P. and Lucy Isaac Aikman. In 1937 in Kingman, she married Glen Newnum, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Donald Leonard of Danville; a daughter, Jannette Rager of Morgan Hill, California; a brother, Louis Aikman of near Boston, Massachusetts; a sister, Inez Fisher of Noblesville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Centennial Bible Church and Yeddo Chapter 131 of the Order of Eastern Star.” - 1985
