Harry Weed invented the tire chain. He formed the American Chain and Cable Company with Walter Benjamin Lashar(62908901) of Bridgeport, CT. Harry also invented a bomb site/carrying gear and a synchronized machine gun for use on propeller planes during WW 1. The Weed Tire Chain Grip Company is listed with one of Harry Houdini's famous escapes.
