LEXINGTON - Services for Harvey J. Craft, 80, will be held at 4 p.m.
Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Bethel Independent Bible Church with burial to
follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Craft will be placed in the church one
hour prior to the service. Officiating will be the Rev. Frank Massa and the
Rev. Ronnie Holland. Grandsons will be pallbearers and nephews will serve as
honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at
Caughman-Harman Funeral Homes, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to
Bethel Independent Bible Church or Palmetto Hospice.
Mr. Craft died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at his home. Born on February 1,
1923, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Aiken and Regina Shumpert
Craft. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Bethel Independent
Bible Church and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Craft had retired from Lexington
County Public Works.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Ellen Lucas Craft; sons and
daughters-in-law, Larry and Helen Craft; Jackie and Rose Craft and Stephen
and Cathy Craft; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; four
stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Shumpert,
Alma Clark and Betty Keisler. Mr. Craft was preceded in death by brothers,
Walter and Harold Craft, and a sister, Ruth McGuckin.
