A graveside service for Dalton Lee Davis, 80, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Sweetwater Cemetery with family members officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Davis died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, in Baird.
He was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Roby. He married Corine Teel in 1974 in Sweetwater. Dalton had lived in Sweetwater for 70 years and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He had worked in construction, worked at USG and worked for Sweetwater Cotton Compress as a watchman and bail loader. He was affiliated with the Church of God.
Survivors include his brothers, Alton Davis and wife Betty of Abilene and Doyle Davis and wife Judy of Denton; sisters, Audie Mae Smith and husband A.B. of Sweetwater, Aline Brand of Euless, Nettie Ruth Newman and husband Mannon of Sweetwater and Ruby Lee Bagby and husband James of Midland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Corine Teel Davis on April 5, 2005; and his parents, Dayton and Clara Davis.
