Mrs. Henry Bebermeier Buried After Rites
Newton – Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Bebermeier, 85, of Newton, who died Monday at the St. Nicholas hospital following a stroke the past Thursday, were held at the Urbanek & Schlei Funeral home at Manitowoc on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. William Beckman officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers were Louis Dill, John Hackman, Albert Goeke, Albert Stuckman, August Hintz and Oscar Kielsmeier.
The deceased was born Mary Grotegut on July 4, 1861, in the town of Centerville. In February 1881, she married Henry Bebermeier, who died nine years ago. After their marriage they moved to a farm on route 1, Newton.
Surviving are seven children, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her daughters are Mrs. Julius Sohn and Mrs. Herman Eberhardt of Newton, and Mrs. Leo Sohn and Mrs. Alvin Rhodewald of Centerville. Sons are Edward, of Sheboygan, and Adolph and Otto of Centerville. Brothers are Simon and Henry Grotegut of Waukon, Iowa. Sisters are Mrs. William Snitker, Mrs. Fred Bechtel and Mrs. Lydia Thomea, all of Waukon, Iowa.
