"James T. Barnes"
A Rosenberg resident for 51 years, James T. Barnes, passed away at his home Friday after a long illness. He was 91.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnes were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Garmany and Company chapel in Rosenberg with Rev. E. W. Cofer of the Second Baptist Church in charge of the services and with Garmany and Company Funeral Directors of Rosenberg directing. Burial was made in the W.O.W. Cemetery in Rosenberg.
Pallbearers were Frank Maresh, Frank Sims, Gene Allison, Joe Slovak, Doug Yelderman and Albert Talasek.
Mr. Barnes was a native of Paris, Texas, and was a retired grocery owner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Barnes of Rosenberg; two half-brothers, W. E. Barnes of El Campo and Carl Barnes of Vivian, La.; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Fannie Portis of Baytown and Mrs. J. W. Danheim of Houston.* * *
