Mrs. Christena Smiley
Word has been received here that Mrs. Christena Smiley, aged 89, passed away this morning about one o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.B. Wright, of Detroit. Mrs. Smiley lived all her life in Ellwood City until she went to Detroit just a few years ago.
Surviving her are five children: Mrs. T.B. Daugherty of Pennsylvania avenue, this city; Harry Smiley of Ellwood City; Mrs. George Jones, of Warren, O.; Mrs. Garfield Clark of Leavittsburg, O.; Mrs. Wright, of Detroit; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The body is being brought to the W.D. Porter funeral home, Fourth street, Ellwood City, where the family will receive friends from 10 until 12 o'clock. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Slippery Rock Presbyterian church, with Rev. Thomas Berger, pastor of the church, in charge. Interment will be in Slippery Rock cemetery.
