Mrs. Eliza Newton, aged 82 years, died Monday afternoon, December 31, at 2:45 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Brown of Pleasant Hill.
Mrs. Newton was born near Princeton and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Catterson. She was well and favorably known to many friends. For many years she had been a member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. John Brown of Pleasant Hill, Morrison Newton of Energy and Fisher Newton of Ellwood City. She also leaves three half-sisters, Mrs. Laughy Cooper, Mrs. Ruth Copper and Mrs. Winnie Jones of Princeton. 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services took place Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Brown with Rev. Paul Elliott in charge. Interment took place in the Slippery Rock cemetery.
