GENESEO - A memorial graveside service will be conducted for Charles E. "Charlie" Caruthers at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Geneseo Cemetery. Mr. Caruthers, 66, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, in Lane Ronan, Mont. He was born June 7, 1935 in rural Ellsworth County to Thomas and Ruth (Zimmerman) Caruthers. He was a 1956 graduate of Marquette High School and had served in the U.S. Army, worked in the oil fields of Great Bend and before his death had been employed as a handyman in the carpentry field in Lane Ronan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Keith Caruthers, and a sister, Linda Caruthers. Survivors include two brothers, Wayne Caruthers, Geneseo, and Richard (Dick) Caruthers, Pratt; two sisters, Ruby Palmer, Lindsborg, and Martha Faust, Charlevoix, Mich.
