In a note written after being taken to the hospital Thursday, the man ascribed his action to "losing his balance" momentarily. This was taken to mean loss of his mind temporarily. Domestic troubles are believed to have been the cause. His wife attempted suicide a few months ago by drinking a snakebite remedy which she believed to be poisonous.
Mr. Andrews had been a resident of Chico for nine months, and a resident of California for 10 years. He was a native of Nebraska.
He leaves his widow, Grace Andrews, of Portland, Ore.; a son, L. [Lewis] C. Andrews of Chico, and two daughters, Helen M. Andrews of Susanville, and Maybelle of Chico. The body is at the funeral home of Bicknell & Moore, who will make arrangements for services.
