William A. Addy Jr. 78 of Mansfield formerly of Big Spring died on Sunday November 7, 2010 in Mansfield, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday November 10, 2010 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Sammy Espinosa pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Coahoma officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday November 9, 2010 at the funeral home.

Mr. Addy was born on April 9, 1932 in Decatur, Mississippi and married Betty Jean Duncan on August 1, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2002.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Coahoma. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he went to work in civil service at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring until he retired. After his retirement he then worked for the Howard County Road and Bridge Department until he retired from the county.

Survivors include two daughters: Debra Kay Addy and Neta Childress both of Mansfield; one son Donald Ray Addy and wife Lora of Eastland; three brothers: Bobby Brooks Addy, Larry Davis Addy and Jimmy Rex Addy all of Decatur, Mississippi; one sister Brenda Joyce Addy also of Decatur, Mississippi; and two grandchildren: Duncan and Sydney Addy both of Eastland.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Sandy Griffin 1217 East 17th Street Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to a favorite charity.
