Funeral for William C. Alexander, 80, of River Ridge, La., will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Alexander died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at East Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Metairie, La. He was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Decatur to Samuel Alexander. He was retired as a ship builder from Avondale Shipyard in New Orleans and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp before World War II, and lived most of his life in New Orleans.

Survivors include one son, Roger Alexander of Blue Ridge, Ga.; three sisters, Iris Morgan, Pauline Verner and Zelma Dial, all of Decatur; and three grandchildren.
