Elmer J Wasem, 67, well known Berlin township retired farmer, died at Good Samaritan hospital at Sandusky Wednesday afternoon, May,1 where he had been taken last Friday for treatment. For many years Mr Wasem was a member of the board of education, as well as serving as a member of the township board of trustees. He was a member of Lake View Lodge Knights of Pythias and as long as his health permitted was a faithful attendant at the meetings of that organization. Born at Ragersville, Tuscarawas county Ohio, Mr Wasem came to Berlin township about 40 years ago where he has since resided on the farm near Ogontz. Mrs. Wasem died about fourteen months ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs Carl Hahn of Berlin Heights and Mrs. Edith Baker of Vermilion and by two sons, Charles and Paul, of Ogontz. There are also six grandchildren, and three brothers, Robert Wasem of Dover William Wasem of Birmingham and Herbert Wasem of Akron and three sisters, Mrs. Cora Beaver of New Philladephia, Mrs. Nettie Miller of Orville and Mrs. Bessie Jenkins of New Phillidephia.
