George Harmon Hanson, age 61, of Palestine, Texas died November 7, 2010 at his residence. Burial at Land of Memory Cemetery is under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home. He was born July 25, 1949, in Baytown, Texas to the late Lubie Harmon Hanson Jr. and Bettie Nelson Hanson. Mr. Hanson moved to Palestine in 1975 and was a founding member of Trinity Valley Community Church. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a music major in college. He owned and operated George Hanson, Jeweler for 20 years and was a member of Palestine Community Theater. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sandy Couch Hanson; sons, Greg Hanson and wife Stacy, Bill Couch and wife Charlotte, Chris Couch and wife Trisha; daughters, Chaundra Dantin and husband Roy, and Becky Couch; sisters, Wynelle Dawson, and Novella Oldham; grandchildren, Tyler Couch, Dustin Couch, Michael Streetman, Colton Streetman, Kevin Couch, Jacob Couch, Branden Dantin, Brittney Zuck, Emily Couch, Laeni Couch, Kennedy Hanson, Luke Hanson, and Gabby Dantin; and two great-grandchildren.
