LODI, Aug. 6 - Final rites for Mrs. Maude Benton, 88, of 317 E. Pine, who came here in 1918 from Pasadena, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Gierhart and Wells Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Bimson of the First Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Lodi Cemetery, with the Flora Rebekah Lodge of Lodi conducting graveside rites. Mrs. Benton, who was born in Michigan, died yesterday in a local rest home after a long illness. Surviving are her son, Wendel of Twain Harte; three daughters, Mrs. Vivian McLane of Lodi; Mrs. Eunice Sterne of Glendale, and Mrs. Dorothy Pigman of El Cerrito; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Joseph, died in 1944. Mrs. Benton was a past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge, and was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist Church.
