Charles worked as section boss on the C.G.W for the past 20 years. He was a member of the A.O.U.W lodge and had lived in Mantorville since 1896, except for 6 years when he lived at Northfield and Zumbrota, Minnesota. He had been ill for the past month with diabetes and died on November 26, 1924 at the age of 66 years, 5 months.
Funeral services were held on November 29 and interment was made in Evergreen cemetery at Mantorville, Minnesota. Pall bearers were Wm. Saller, Phil Mulvaney, Peter Klinepier, Robert Meeker, Manlay Nelson and Eugene Childs.
Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral were his son-in-law, Leo Olsen of St. Paul; his brother Alonzo of Carlisle, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Woods of Indianola, Iowa and Mrs. Bettie Thomas of Oseola, Iowa.
