Funeral services for Mrs. J. B. Modisette, 56, of 7934 Wiggins St., Houston, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in the Gospel Assembly Church of Houston. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Walker Cemetery near Lufkin.
Mrs. Modisette died Wednesday night at her residence after a long illness. She was born December 15, 1902, in Angelina County and had resided in Houston for the past 10 years.
Survivors include her husband, J. B. Modisette; six sons, Marvin, Buford, Ray, Weldon and Jerry Modisette, all of Houston and D. R. Modisette of Daingerfield; five daughters, Ossie Mae McClain of Knee Bay, Washington, Estaline Davenport of Alvin, Mrs. Espie Joe Ulrich of Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Nova Jean Patterson and Beth Modisette, both of Houston; her mother, Mrs. D. R. Jones of Houston; brothers, Isaac Jones of Arlington, Aaron and Whitfield Jones, both of Houston; sisters, Mrs. A. P. Upchurch of Lufkin and Mrs. W. ___ of Houston; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Lillie Amanda Jones born December 15, 1902 in Angelina County, Texas to David Raleigh/Riley Jones and Jennie F. Boykin. She married Joe Benjamin Modisette. She died on June 13, 1959 in Angelina County, Texas
