Following from the research of the late John D. Baldwin III (50+ year Delong researcher):

1773 - In "Berks Co. PA Marriages 1730-1800," Vol. 2 as md. 23 Mar 1773 to Susanna Smadder. (some sources spell name as Marie Susanna Schmetterin)

1780 - Taxed in Maxatawny, Berks Co.; 1 cow, 4.15.0

1783 - 1st Company, Berks Co. Militia (composed of Longswamp and Maxatawny men) as Friedrig Delang.

1784 - Taxed in Maxatawny; 2 horses.

1790 - Not identifiable in the census as DeLong, Long nor Lang.

1790 - A possible daughter buried in W. Penn Twp.

1798 - A promissory note relating to Frederick is in German. The photocopy which came to me was of an earlier photocopy and is nearly illegible.

1800 - Penn's Twp, Northampton Co., PA 21201/11001. This I assume is what is now West Penn Twp. of Schuylkill, adjacent to E. Brunswick Twp.

1801 - Land patent, 132 acres in Brunswick Twp, Berks (now Schuylkill) Co, 20 October.

1802 - 30 Dec. Frederick of Brunswick Twp. bound himself to payment to Robert Stebleton of Albany Twp., Berks Co., of 86 pounds, gold or silver, Pennsylvania currency. The obligation was only 44 pounds plus legal interest if paid before 7 Nov 1803.

1809 - Of Brunswick Twp., Berks Co. when he sold land to son, Peter, 3 Oct.

1810 - Of Brunswick Twp., 00201/00000, so wife had died between 1800 and 1810.

1820 - Not indexed in PA.

1828 - Johann Friechrich DeLong b. 7 Feb 1740 (must be error for 1750), d. Manheim Twp. 9 Sep 1828, age 78-7-1 (still off 1 day even with 10 year correction) (Zion Ref. Ch. Orwigsburg, Schuylkill Co.) [Tombstone Inscriptions, Schuylkill Co., PA p. 258: Zion's Red Church Lutheran, W. Brunswick, 1 mile s. of Orswigburg -- Delong, Johann Friedrick, b. Manheim 7 Feb 1740; d. 9 Sep 1828. From burial records of Lutheran Church, no stone.]

Unfortunately no listing of (John) Frederick's children has been found. Of the following, John, Peter, Jacob, Michael, Susanna and Mary are known from Brunswick and/or West Penn Twp. records and would likely be children of Frederick of those places, while Irwin Hoch DeLong published the statement that one was Henry's descendants was a desc. of Frederick. I include Andrew of Schuylkill Twp. only with great reservation.

Probable CHILDREN:

5-1-9-1 JOHN b. 1774-80 (under 26 in 1800, over 60 in 1840). In own home by 1800. Md. Catherine _________.

5-1-9-2 PETER b. 26 Aug 1782 per age on t.s. The older of two sons 16-26 in 1800; md. before 1810 Mary Milner.

5-1-9-3 JACOB b. ca. 1784; the younger of two sons 16-26 in 1800. Md. before 1810 Catherine _____.

5-1-9-7 (son) b. 1791-4, older of two sons under 10 in 1800 and over 16 in 1810.

I am ashamed before your throne, Oh Judge of my heart. Forgive me thy human son, I am full of sin. Please forgive me and take care of me. You are the only one who can help me. Don't judge me or my heart will break. When I am sad I will think back to my childhood years. I am so sorry that I have been so self-centered. I lived with ignorance. Your will was unknown to me. I knew the bad and I used my blindness to add to my sin. I turned to be good against my will. More out of fear of thy ? punishment and not out of love for thee. I should have grown in wisdom. My faith should have guided me in my age. All I am now is thanks to thee, Oh Lord. I was able to cover my badness with my lies. My small heart was full of trickery. Nothing changed my thinking and that was my temptation.

These two marriage partners, Peter DeLong and his wife, Elizabeth, she born Favorin (Favorin is probably Weberin or Weverin). Was born a son, Johann Frederick the morning at 8 o'clock. Was brought to baptism before the most Reverend Johann Frederick Miller, minister of the Protestant Reformed Church, servant of the Faith. Baptized the named as Johann Frederick DeLong, as said above, on the 5th day of March in the year 1750. The only witness of the ceremony was the above named Johann Frederick Miller alone. The above named Johann Frederick DeLong was born and baptized in Mauxatawny Township Berks County in the State of Pennsylvania. Was accepted and confirmed in the Protestant Reformed religion in 1767. He was married on the 23.d of March 1772 to Marie Susannah Smeterich.
