The Effingham County native was a graduate of Georgia Southern College and Western North Carolina University. He retired in 1981 as Education Officer at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
He was a member of Baptist Church of Bloomington and a World War II Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida R. Hagin of Bloomington; his mother, Mrs. Ina Marie Hagin, and a sister, Mrs. Joel Newsome, both of Smyrna; two brothers, Durelle Hagin of Richmond Hill and Hugh Hagin of Statesboro.
Funeral service, 3 p.m. Tuesday at Massey Chapel Funeral Home, burial in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
