She married Charles Bennett Feb. 22nd, 1922, in California. He preceded her in death in 1969.
Mrs. Bennett received her education at the Wyaconda, MO High School, Canton College, Drake University and the University of New Hampshire. She had taught school in California, Missouri and at St. Vincents, Iowa, and Southeastern Community College in Keokuk until retiring in 1978. She received many awards for her poetry and paintings. She was a member of Georgia Poetry Society, Scribblers of Keokuk, Iowa Poetry Association and many other writing associations. She was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk.
Survivors include one son, Charles Bennett Jr., one daughter, Bernadine Loeffler; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
