She was born on June 9, 1904, the daughter of Clem and Julia (Fleege) Runde, at Hazel Green, WI. She was married on August 18, 1931 to Edmund E. Belda. She lived on a farm in the Township of Windsor until 1949, when the family moved to Sun Prairie. She was a member of Sacred Hearts congregation, St. Anne's Society, St. Cecelia's Circle, Catholic Order of Foresters, 20th Century Club and the Colonial Club. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, gardening, music, crafts, writing and painting. Her paintings have been displayed at the Colonial Club.
Survivors include her husband, Edmund; three daughters, Mary (Clem) Batz of Sun Prairie, Barbara (Bill) Young of Sun Prairie, and Beatrice (Edward) Pronley of Brookfield; a son, John (Joan) Belda of Sun Prairie; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hildegorde Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Oscar, Dr. Raymond, Dr. Francis, and Harry Runde.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 1993, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 1993, at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St, where a scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Hearts Endowment Fund or the Colonial Club Endowment Fund.
