Mr. Denham died Tuesday, Jan. 19 in Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 6, 1901 in Onalaska, TX, the son of James Elbert Denham and Ida Lamb Denham.
A retired pulpwood contractor, Mr. Denham had resided in this area for 59 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 14 of Livingston and the Scottish Rite of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Denham; two sons, Howard Denham and Henry Denham; and two sisters, Fannie Townley and Birdie Sutton.
Survivors include a daughter, Josephine Strickland of Liberty; a son, Joe Denham Jr. of Livingston; and a brother, H. S. “Buster” Denham of Livingston.
Pallbearers will be Edwin Carter, Tom Ellington, Mack Frazier, Jimmy Carter, Steve Denham, Dwayne Teel, Jack Townley and Steve Townley.
Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
