Otto F. Pospeschil was the son of Frank and Marie (Peshel) Pospischil and graduated from Janesville High School in 1938. Otto entered the US Army Air Corps on January 20, 1940, and served his first 2 years at Hickham Field in Hawaii where he was stationed at the time the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He served as an aerial photographer/gunner aboard B-17's and B-24's. Otto was awarded the Air Medal with 3 Oakleaf clusters and also the Silver Star for valor in the face of the enemy. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant on May 30, 1945. He was employed by the US Postal Office in Janesville for 35 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Janesville. Otto enjoyed bowling, golfing, riding his bike, and a hot cup of coffee. He died November 4, 2010, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home.
