Mr. Willard R. Rickerson, Sr., 83, of Powell Mill Road, Augusta, Georgia, left this earth on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Reverend Steve Melcher officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. He was the son of the late Barrett and Mattie Rickerson. He served as Seaman First Class in the South Pacific during World War II. By profession, he was a self employed painter and Jack of All Trades. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Janelle Maddox Rickerson and granddaughter Eva N. Markyna. He is survived by his children Willard and Dixie Rickerson, Vivian and Edward Oates, and Eyvonne Markyna; his sister Annie Mae Powell. "Papa" leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. We love you Daddy, kiss Mama for us. Starling Funeral Home.
