Fritz was one of five children born to William and Nellie (Delong) Schulz in March of 1912 on the family farm just outside of Grove City, OH. Fritz was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family and gave his all in everything he attempted. He worked for over 52 years at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, OH. Upon his retirement in 1979 a local newspaper columnist referred to him as having "the look of a Marine drill instructor with the solicitude and concern of a parish priest." He had a zest for life and enjoyed God's creations in nature, simple pleasures, good food, and he had an onery sense of humor. He also loved farming, landscaping, gardening, and was a pretty skillful Euchre player. He often said he had seen the best of this world. His favorite hymn was "In the Sweet By and By."
