Charlie Taylor, Sr., 93, of Greenville, widower of Dorothy Louise Locke Taylor, died July 15, 2009.

Born in Milton, Fla., he was a son of the late Rev. Newt Taylor and Annie Clarke Taylor.

Charlie retired from Elliott Metal Works, was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his sons, Gary Dale Taylor (Pat), Ronnie J. Taylor (Linda), and Charlie Taylor, Jr. (Jane); six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Velma Lewis; and a brother, Preston Taylor.

He was predeceased by 21 sisters and brothers.

The funeral service will be Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation prior from 12 to 1:15 p.m.

Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, West.
