ATOKA — Services for Lola May Perkins, 78, are 10 a.m. Saturday at Tupelo Church of Christ. Burial follows at Wilson Cemetery. Mrs. Perkins died Sept. 29, 2008, at Coalgate. She was born April 17, 1930, at Snomac, Okla., to James Cecil and Opal Claunch. She attended schools in Snomac, Brownston, Ill., and Atoka. She worked for the telephone company in Dallas, Texas, Rangeley, Colo., and Rock Springs, Wyo. For several months she worked at a hospital in Watford City, N.D. She attended Lela's Beauty School in Ada and worked as a beautician. She later worked for the Savanah Ammunition depot as a U.S. postal clerk. She also helped as a seamstress in her sister's drapery shop. She joined Northtown Church of Christ in McAlester about 1965. She has attended Tupelo Church of Christ for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Cecilia Woods, son Robert Earl Wicker, her twin sister, Faye Woods, and nephews John and Ronnie Bills. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Roberts, Connie Martin; sisters, Bessie Bills, Fran Salyer, Ann Hyatt; and a brother, Robert Claunch; grandchildren Noah Wicker, Kim Rhoades, Kipper Woods, Jeremy Thomas, Jared Thomas, Bo Roberts, Danielle Jones and Dylan Martin; great-grandchildren Madison and Easton Rhoades; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
