OAKDALE — Funeral services for John Ashley Duck Sr., 84, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in First Baptist Church.
The Revs. John Campbell and Bobby Bonds will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Forest Hill under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
Visitation is 9 a.m.-10 p.m. today, Feb. 20 in the funeral home and from 8 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
Mr. Duck died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, in an Alexandria hospital.
He was a native of Forest Hill. He was a retired supervisor with Boise Cascade and worked there for more than 21 years. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Dalton Duck of Oakdale; four sons, Ennis L. Duck, John Ashley Duck Jr., Randy Dalton Duck and Eddie Lynn Duck, all of Oakdale; three daughters, Patricia Anne Russell of Westlake, Carolyn Sue Duck of Oakdale and Janice Dean Merchant of Madison, Miss.; one brother, Wylie Barkdull of Channelview, Texas; three sisters, Violet Nugent and Vera Smith, both of Alexandria, and Frankie Lou Pringle of Forest Hill; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
