David was the son of Samuel and Mary Byer, born on Feb. 13, 1755 in Hamiltonban Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. He married Esther Baer and they had 9 children: John, George, David, Michael, Christian, Fanny (Graybill), Mary (Stover), Esther (Carpenter), and Elizabeth (Stover). Both David & Esther are buried in the Byers' Cemetery in Highland Twp., outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
