Mrs. Wesley Myers Passes
Mrs. Myers Was Born and Raised in This City and Has Resided Here From Her Childhood

Mrs. Wesley Myers, who has been confined to her bed since Christmas Day, passed away early Monday morning, April 4th. Death came not unexpectedly but it was none the less hard to bear for her loved ones. She had been in failing health for some time, but she bore the afflictions patiently and uncomplainingly with a Christian fortitude. For she had learned in her illness to draw from the strength God gives His own in Christ. God's Word became dear to her and she clung to Jesus as her Savior and only ground of salvation.

All was done for her by her near ones to restore her to health. Her sister-in-law, Miss Lydia Myers and her sister, Mrs. McCawley faithfully attended upon her to the last. On Easter Sunday she felt, however, that her end was near and she called her relatives and her pastor to her bedside and bade them farewell. She lingered only a few days longer.

Mrs. Wesley Myers, nee Gerda Mathison, was born in Estherville, March 25, 1890. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. With the exception of a few years, she has lived her life in Estherville. On June 2, 1910, she was married to Wesley Myers. They have made this their home, Mr. Myers being employed on the Rock Island.

Mrs. Myers was a quiet, unassuming woman and will be missed in home and among her friends. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, mother, two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services are being conducted at the Mrs. G. W. Myers home this (Wednesday) afternoon by Rev. S. A. Berge of the Lutheran church. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 6, 1921)
