Anna Margaret Slattery was born February 2, 1894 in the Timber Creek Area, nine and a half miles northeast of Wolbach to Andrew and Ricka Klein. She received her education in the Timber Creek area.

Anna married Fred Slattery December 29, 1921. A daughter, Margaret was born to this union. They lived in the vicinity of the Star School for about six years. Then they purchased a farm north of Primrose and lived there until the death of Mr. Slattery in 1937.

Anna returned to live with her parents on the farm. Following the death of her father, she and her mother moved to Wolbach. She worked for some time at Grand Island, Sutton and Denver, Colorado. Her health failing, she returned to Wolbach where she lived until January 19, 1959 when she entered the Yax Rest Home at Scotia, Nebraska.

On January 8, 1962 she became seriously ill and was taken by ambulance to the St. Francis Hospital where she departed this life on February 19, 1962 at 3:10 p.m. at the age of 68 years and 17 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and one brother.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Margaret, (Mrs. James E. McNelis) of Scottsdale, Arizona, two grandsons, Larry Lynn and Robert Edward McNelis; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Glines of Alliance, Mrs. Minnie Glines of Cushing, Mrs. Rosena Allen of St. Paul and Mrs. Dora Lantz of Wolbach; three brothers, Edward Klein of Sutton and Herman and Albert of Wolbach; plus other relatives and a host of friends.
