Galva, IL - Verna E. Jaquet, 88, of Galva, died at 1:25 AM, Friday, October 22, 2010 at Courtyard Estates in Galva.

Verna was born January 8, 1922 in Hooppole, IL, the daughter of Willis and Lila (Anderson) Fehlman. She married Earl E. Jaquet on April 11, 1942 in Annawan.

Survivors include a son, Paul (Jacqueline) Jaquet of Galva, a daughter, Lucille (Charles) DiGiovanna of Calabash, NC, five grandchildren, Kevin (Brandy) Jaquet, Adam Jaquet and Elena, Josefina and Vincent DiGiovanna and a great grandchild, Cameron Bryce Jaquet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and a son.

She had taught at a country school for a year, but mainly had been a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galva and its United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer at the Abilities Plus Resale Shop for over 20 years. She also volunteered for the tutoring program in Galva. She enjoyed traveling and attending plays and theater productions.

Inurnment will be in Galva Cemetery.
