VETERAN OF WORLD WAR IIOBITUARY OF LAWRENCE "L. L." ANTHONY

Lawrence “L. L.” Anthony, 84, of Spearman, Texas, died Monday, June 16, 1997.

Memorial services were held in Hansford Manor with the Rev. Jeff Lust, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. ANTHONY was born in Great Bend, Nebraska. He had lived in the Spearman area for 47 years, moving from Thermopolis, Wyoming.

He married Anita BABITZKE in Canadian, in 1964.

Mr. ANTHONY was an electrician, and owned and operated Anthony Electric in Spearman from 1945 to 1990, when he retired. He served in the Marines during World War II in Guam, The Solomon Islands, New Zealand and Bougainvillea.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hansford Lodge No. 1040 AF&AM, the Scottish Rite in Lubbock and Khiva Temple of the Shrine. He was a charter member of the Spearman Industrial Foundation.

In 1974, he was named the Spearman Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.

Survivors include his wife; two step-sons, Eugene SCHOENHALS of Panhandle and Garner SCHOENHALS of Canadian; a step-daughter, Roberta WHITEHEAD of Kingwood and a sister, Marie HALONE of Billings, Montana.
