Edward J. Keranen, 69, of Atlantic Mine, was dead on arrival at Portage View Hospital, early Saturday following an automobile-pedestian accident in Atlantic Mine.
He was born Oct. 15, 1910 in Atlantic Mine, a son of Henry & Katherine Keranen, and spent his life in the Atlantic Mine area. He had attended the local schools.
Mr. Keranen had worked as a woodsman and dairy farmer.
Surviving are six sisters, Jean, Elma, Fannie, Elvira, Eleanor and Helen; four brothers, Lauri, Carl, Benjamin and Thomas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held Tuesday at the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range with Rev. Arvo Onermaa to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Atlantic Mine Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
