Walter "Buster" Dixon Reaves, Jr., 97, died Tuesday, November 02, 2010, at the Richard M Campbell VA Nursing Home. He was the widower of Ginette Millot Reaves and son of the late Walter Dixon Reaves, Sr., and Mattie Wofford Reaves.


Mr. Reaves was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, retired as a bus driver with Duke Power, and was a member of Glendale Baptist Church. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II and awarded the American Theater Service Medal, EAME Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.


He is survived by a son, W. Dixon Reaves, III, of Spartanburg; two nephews, Walter Blain Corn and wife, Pat of Spartanburg and James Dixon Corn and wife, Olsey of Spartanburg; and a dear friend and caregiver, Ann S. Brown of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by two sisters, Nell R. Corn and Edith R. Porter.


Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Daniel Blackwell.
