Herbert John Phillips, Jr., 55, of Hinckley, died October 24, 1974 at DeKalb Public Hospital.
He was born November 28, 1918, in Big Rock Township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Phillips, Sr. He married Dorothy Miller in Pierce Township February 16, 1939. He was a member of the Pierce United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Martin, Hinckley, Mrs. Arlene Maze, Ocala, FL; three sons, Larry, Boulder Hill, Roy, Aurora, and Daniel, Hinckley; his parents, of Shabbona; a sister, Mrs. Amos Oftedal, Shabbona; a brother, Donald, Kaneville; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Pierce United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Powell officiating. Burial was in the Church cemetery.
