Morehouse - Arthur Allen Kem, 79 of this city died in the Missouri Delta Community Hospital, Sikeston, at 6:00 p.m., son of the late Joseph and Susan Hale Kem, born 20 July 1883 died April 1963 (SSDI), and for many years until his retirement had been employed by Himmelberger - Harrison Co., Prior to his association with the lumber company, he was employed by Scott County Milling Co.
He is survived by one son, Murl Kem, of Sikeston; four daughters, Mrs Niva Gwaltney of Sikeston, Mrs Evelyn Roach of Morehouse, Mrs Alois Tine of Diagonal, Iowa, and Mrs Laura Chapman of O'Calia, Fla.; two brothers, Louis and Archie Kem both of Sikeston; 16 grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at the Allbritton Funeral Home until time for services which will be held in the First Baptist Church of Morehouse at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. A. C. Sullivant will officiate assisted by the Rev. Jack Bishop.
Interment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Sikeston, with Allbritton Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
