Mrs. Sylvia Goode, who had made her home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Fugate at 1119 Grove St., four the past two years, has been notified that her husband, Louis (Babe) Goode 30, has been killed in action somewhere in the South Pacific. He was a fireman first class and had been in service aboard a ship since four months ago.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goode of Amsterdam, Mo., Louis was a resident of Middletown for three years, during which time he was employed by Armco, and lived at 1121 Grove St. He, together with his family, moved to a farm near Amsterdam in October 1942, which he continued to operate until in November, 1943, when he was notified by the Middletown draft board that he had been placed in the November draft call.
Besides his wife and his parents he is survived by three sons and one daughter, Frank, Edward, Ronald and Mary Ann.
