Suddenly At
Lanett Home
Funeral Held Wednesday

Lanett
After having finished scrubbing the back porch for his wife, John Cole, of Lanett, slipped and fell to the floor, breakingh is neck and dying almost instantly, Monday afternoon. Mr. Cole was 46 years old, and had been aresident of Lanett for the past 15 years. He was an employee in the Lanett mill.
"My husbandf had just finished with the scrubbing," stated Mrs. Cole, "and was getting ready to go to the mill. As he turned to enter the house, his foot slipped and he fell."
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, three o'clock, from the Lanett Baptist church, the services being conducted by the pastor. Rev. S. L. Heath, assisted by C. E. Lunceford. Interment followed in the Lanett cemetery, with J. J. Hagedorn and Company in charge.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wife and six children: Mrs. Agnes Hughes, Lanett, Misses Christine, Marie, Ruth, Frances, and Laura Cole, Lanett; six brothers: Tom Cole, of South Georgia; Joe Cole, of Harris County; Jim Cole, of Troup County; Benny Cole, of LaGrange; Ed Cole, of Thomaston; Alfred Cole, of Shawmut; three sisters, Mrs. G. W. Pike, of Ozierfield, Ga.; Mrs. E. E. Carvender, of Franklin, Ga.; and Mrs. Lula Watts, of Shawmut.
