Died at her Home in Gorin on the Last Day of the Year
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Seth Beach, who died at her home in Gorin on Friday, December 31, 1937. Services were conducted by Rev. George V. Baskett at the Gorin Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at two o'clock and were largely attended as Mr. and Mrs. Beach have been residents of Harrison Township for many years. Interment was in the Gorin Cemetery.
In the address, Rev. Baskett said: "Caroline Dye was the daughter of Benjamin and Mildred Dye. She was born in Scotland County, Missouri, June 3, 1855. At the time of her death she was 82 years old.
On the 8th day of April 1877, she was united in marriage to Seth Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Beach have spent all their married life in this community. They lived on a farm northwest of Gorin until about ten years ago. They have since made their home in Gorin. In the passing of Mrs. Beach, the community loses one of its pioneer citizens and a good woman. She was quiet and unassuming, helping others when the outside world knew not of her sympathy. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, having united in the church in 1923. She will not only be missed by her husband but the whole community as well.
She leaves her husband, Seth Beach of Gorin, one aged sister, Mrs. Jane Rice also of Gorin and a number of nephews and nieces.
