31 DEC 2022 SAC with name change and additional information.* [Courtesy of FAG Contributor #47304759]~Born in the Cherokee Nation. Husb. of Temperance Stansel (1800-1862) same marker stone has dates for Temperance, here; parents of John S.Ward; Mildred(Woods)(Wilkerson); Martha Ann(Scrimsher); George Hilman Ward, buried here; and Frances Catherine Ward (Marcum)(Duncan)(Rogers)(Barney). Son of John Jack Ward,(Irish)(Son of Bryant Ward I) and Catherine McDaniel Ward, Cherokee Nation. Emigrated to Indian Territory circa 1833. (Note: Many graves here are relocated due to Federal engineering of Grand Lake area: This and other graves were probably from northern Delaware Co, just south of this location)
