Mr. Henry Sylvester Falls, 89, widower of Zora Boggs Falls, of Fallston, N.C., 28042, died April 12, 2003, at Lincoln Medical Center.

He was a textile chemist with J.P. Stevens Fiberglass Textiles in Slater with 33 years of service. After retirement, he returned to Fallston, where he worked as a consultant. This work would take him to Russia, Japan, China, India and France.

Mr. Falls attended Oak Ridge Military Academy and N.C. State University, where he earned a BS degree in Textile Chemistry and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Mr. Falls is a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and is a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.

He was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the European Theater and Alaska.

Survivors: A son, Dr. Claude Falls, of Lincolnton; and five grandchildren.

Service: 2 p.m. today at Friendship United Methodist Church in Fallston, with viewing from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park with Masonic and military graveside rites.
