James H. Champion LtCol., US Marine Corps (Ret.) Died peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2010, after an eleven year battle with three different cancers.

A decorated Vietnam veteran, Mr. Champion was born on December 26, 1934, in Paducah, KY.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sylvia (Murphy) Champion; son, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 4 at the Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel, adjacent to the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

Burial in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle VA to follow at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any memorial donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in the name of LtCol J. H. Champion, PO Box 4486, Houston, TX, or to Virginia Autism Project
