Lester P. "Les" Brewer, 88, of East Peoria passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 16, 1921, in Cumberland County, Ill., to Clint and Lena (Letner) Brewer. He first married Thelma Edwards on May 23, 1942; she preceded him in death on Oct. 25, 1974. He then married Madeline Rennau on May 28, 1976.

She survives, along with two daughters, Eileen (Don) Flexer of Peoria and Frances Poulsen of Peoria; two stepchildren, Don (Marty) Rennau of East Peoria and Sharon Lamprecht of East Peoria; and one brother, Virgil (Ethel) Brewer of Lewistown.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

Les served in the U.S. Navy during WWII until being honorably discharged in 1945.

He worked for Hyster Co. in Peoria for 25 years and then as a supervisor for IDOT, until retiring in 1983.

Les was a 50-year member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Illinois Valley Blacksmith Association (IVBA).

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
