Death came unexpectedly Tuesday to George Wright Wilson, 63, youngest son of Traer's illustrious "Tama Jim" Wilson, deceased, as the result of a heart attack. Mr. Wilson had suffered a mild heart illness several days before and was warned by his physician that he was working too hard, but his condition was not considered serious. He was stricken more severely about 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon while busy about his form, two miles west of Traer. He went to the house, and a physician was called. The latter had been gone from the home only a few minutes when Mr. Wilson suffered another attack and died without warning about 4 p. m. Mr. Wilson's son, James, had returned to town with the doctor, thinking his father was rallying favorably and only Miss Flora Powell, the decedent's housekeeper for many years, was with Mr. Wilson when he died.
Funeral services will be held this Friday afternoon—at 1 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at Tranquillity church, southwest of Traer. The Rev. M. F . Chapman, of Crawfordsville, Illinois a former pastor of the church, will officiate, assisted by the rev. Norman Frerking of Lincoln who is present supplying the Tranquillity pulpit. Music will be furnished by a quartet composed of Franklin Earley and John Currens, of Traer; Mrs. Alex Carpenter, of Cedar Falls; and Mrs. James Edwards, of Cedar Heights. Burial will be in Buckingham cemetery. Casket bearers will be David Wilson, P. L. Wilson, Jay Wilson, Fred Wilson, Fred Safely and Paul Stevenson. Mrs. P. L. Wilson will be in charge of the flowers.
Born July 12, 1876 on the Tama Jim Wilson home farm southwest of Traer now occupied by Mrs. Ward Wilson, the decedent spent, his entire life as a resident of the Traer community. He was married June 10, 1909, to Nelle Stevenson, who died December 10, 1919. One son died in infancy. Surviving are a son, James B. Wilson of Traer and a daughter Ruth, shoes marriage to Lloyd Lauster of big Stone City, South Dakota, took place only a few weeks ago. The decedent also leaves one sister, Miss Flora Wilson of Washington D. C. and two brothers, Jasper of Buckingham and James Wilson of Brookings, south Dakota.
Two other sons of "Tama Jim" Wilson served as United States Secretary of agriculture under four presidents preceded Wright Wilson in death. These were Peter and Ward Wilson, both of whom have been claimed within the past few years. One daughter of Secretary Wilson died when young. Wright Wilson was a kind man of generous impulse, whose chief interest was in his home and children and whose thoughts were usually for consideration of others rather than himself.
