OBITUARY
A useful and beautiful life went from our community March 22, 1902, in the death of Mrs. Betsy Ann Brott, wife of Mr. Frank Brott, She was 58 years old and leaves greatly bereaved, a husband, two sons and a daughter. She was born in New York state, went to Wisconsin when she was a child and spent her girlhood with her parents at Trenton, near West Bend. She was married in 1864, moved to Colby, Miss. in 1874, then to Florence, Ala. in 1888 and from there to this city in 1900. She was a faithful wife and a kind mother and will be sadly missed in her home and the community.
She was converted in early life and has been an acceptable member of the church for over 40 year. She was a member of the Methodist church while in this city and was greatly beloved by a large circle of friends. She loved her bible and took it for her guide and counselor all through life.
Owing to the sickness of her pastor, Rev. C. J. Howell preached a very impressive sermon on the words "My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you."
